My last article on the Best Product Management Tools — Part 1 illustrated how the right choice of weapon empowers a great warrior, and this is also true for Product Managers, who must pick the right tools to support the product team. Another set of tools for PM’s out there…

User experience testing

Testing is one thing, but building a product is another.

Lookback: A great tool for talking to your users and understanding how they use it.

User Testing: Create experiences that get real results using the Real-time feedback from real customers wherever you work.

Optimizely: Unlock the digital potential through data-driven decisions, continued experimentation and constant invention.

Flowcharting tools

The customer journey map will help you and your company gain a better understanding of the entire customer journey. Journey maps can also be focused specifically on the full experience of using a product.

Microsoft Visio: Work visually from anywhere, at any time.

Lucidchart: Intelligent diagramming application that brings teams together to make better decisions

Collaboration

The ability to work together is crucial to any team, especially when coming up with solutions for people. Team collaboration is made easier with the following list:

Google Workspace: Best co working platform is offered by Google through Gmail, Hangouts, Chat, Calendar, Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Forms.

Microsoft 365: Host audio or video meetings, chat with colleagues, and collaborate in real time. You can share files on any device, store notes and documents, and share calendars.

Slack: Faster than email more focused than chat.

Productivity

Productivity is a crucial component of everybody’s life, especially in an era of Work From Home everywhere, it is important to choose the right tool.

Airtable: Part spreadsheet, part database, and entirely flexible.

Notion: All-in-one workspace. Write, plan, collaborate, and get organized.

Coda: Turn your docs into apps. Blends together documents, spreadsheets and presentations.

Customer Survey Tools

These tools offer many types of pre-formatted questions. Adding multiple choices, drop-down lists, or even just opening up comment fields is simple and quick.

SurveyMonkey: Build cloud-based surveys on any topic. Companies can also use SurveyMonkey’s enterprise services for brand management, data analysis, and consumer marketing.

Typeform: Create surveys, quizzes, forms, or something completely new. Customize the design to speak your brand’s language.

Google Forms: It’s hard to come across a Google product that people don’t like. Create simple forms and surveys for free and integrate it with your Google Drive or an existing spreadsheet to record your responses.

Recording apps for customer interviews

The ability to record calls can be a lifesaver in some cases, particularly when it comes to customer interviews. Having these important sessions recorded will allow us to refer to them in the future. When interacting with your customers, you can learn valuable insights, get answers to questions you realize many others will have, or get a novel reason why they use your product that you may not have considered otherwise. However, you must also keep in mind the cost associated with storing it, so choose wisely from these options:

Zoom: Communicate with coworkers and customers via video conferencing, webinars, online conference rooms, and group messaging.

Teams: Chat, meet, call and collaborate all in one place.

Special mentions

It is my pleasure to acknowledge these two amazing initiatives that kept the user problem in mind and provided a wonderful solution…

Producter: An all-in-one platform for product teams. With Producter, you can collect feedback, interact with users, plan your roadmap, manage tasks, and so on. You can also easily export and import your existing task history into Producter within minutes.

Paco: Whether you are using Slack for personal or official purposes, Paco can help you focus better. “Keep calm and slack with Paco”. Jira and Github integration coming soon.

You may find many more tools available, so feel free to comment on your top picks for each category.
